Player, Coach, and Fan Behavior

At Futsal Games

For both Soccer and Futsal, ASA emphasizes the need for players, coaches, and fans to show respect for game officials, opponents, and all participants.  Proper respect and behavior are particularly important in Futsal given the tight, indoor spaces in which it is played.  With that in mind, ASA has developed the following Futsal disciplinary policy.

I.  Players

A.  Red Card Send-Off.  Any player or substitute who is sent-off for a red card offense is also suspended for the team’s next game.  Depending on the circumstances, the ASA Futsal Director may extend the suspension.

B.  Red Card Send-Off for Violent Conduct.  Any player or substitute who is sent-off for violent conduct is also suspended for the team’s next two games.  Depending on the circumstances, the ASA Futsal Director may extend the suspension.

II.  Coaches

A.  Send-Off.  Any coach that is sent-off, whether shown a red card or not, is also suspended for the team’s next game.  Depending on the circumstances, the ASA Futsal Director may extend the suspension.

B.  Reported Referee Abuse.  If following a match, a referee reports abuse by a coach, the ASA Futsal Director may suspend the coach for one or more games or impose other appropriate disciplinary sanctions.

NOTE:  ASA has ZERO tolerance for any form of referee abuse of our youth referees.  Coaches should not dispute, question, contest, or in any way show their displeasure with the referee’s handling of the game.

III.  Fans

A.  Send-Off.  Any fan required to leave the facility by the referee may not attend the team’s next game. The ASA Futsal Director may impose additional sanctions.

B.  Fan Entering Court.  Any fan entering the court during the match to dispute a referee call should be immediately expelled from the facility by the referee and is barred from attending any ASA Futsal match for the remainder of the season.

C.  Reported Referee Abuse.  If following a match, a referee reports abuse by a team’s fans, the ASA Futsal Director may bar specific fans or all of the team’s fans for one or more game or impose forfeits of one or more games.
