Pre-Season & Season Ball Mastery Classes
PreK - 6th Grade
What is Ball Mastery?
Ball Mastery is offered in the fall and spring as supplementary training opportunities for kids who play in the Recreational League (although the program is open to everyone!). Professional coaches give kids a structured and fun environment where they can improve technical skills and participate in small sided games.
Our focus is to improve general coordination and body awareness, improve individual ball control and dribbling skills, introduce basic passing and dribbling concepts and foster creativity.
Professional coaches provide a high quality and fun soccer learning environment.
Kids are grouped in the following age groups and activities and games are modeled to be appropriate for each age level.
Who Plays in this Program?
The program is open to anyone! Kids who are interested in getting a jump start on the Rec season may sign up for the three week pre-season session. For those kids who are looking for an EXTRA skills session per week (in addition to their Rec practice), Ball Mastery is a perfect opportunity.
Hour-long practices take place once a week for six weeks (for the pre-season ball mastery session the schedule is six training sessions over three weeks). It is highly recommended that kids in the Ball Mastery program also play on a Recreational Soccer team to continue building skills and gaining game experience. Ball Mastery practice should not interfere with a player’s weekly Rec team practice.

*For 3rd-6th graders we offer the Alexandria Growth Program (AGP) during the Rec Season (instead of Ball Mastery). AGP is similar to Ball Mastery in that kids get one extra practice per week, but with the addition of a few extra weekend games against outside clubs! [Learn more!]
