Winter Futsal League
(January - February)
Late registration is only available by calling the ASA Office at 703-684-5425 or emailing email@example.com
ASA soccer is moving indoors for the winter for the second winter indoor soccer league in Alexandria! The main focus of the winter futsal league is to improve players’ overall technical ability within an active and high-paced form of play. The games will be played in a 5 v. 5 format including goalkeepers. The format allows players to maximize touches on the ball, enhance passing and receiving abilities in tight spaces, and a chance to create high volumes of chances to score. While skill development is key, players will also be able to benefit from the opportunity to compete over the course of eight (8) games of futsal. Players are organized by age and gender. While the program is open to players of all skill levels, there will be two distinct division levels -- recreational and advanced (travel) -- to optimize each player's experience.
U5 - U6: For both boys and girls; modified futsal rules and play will be appropriately implemented for our youngest age groups. Modified play includes: 3v3 with no GK's, use of dual field (side by side) to maximize time on the court for each player.
U7-U18: Two divisions for boys and girls:
Note: ASA technical staff and professional coaches will manage each site and lead a techincal warm-up prior to each game.
High School Division
We anticipate another high level of competition in our boys and girls High School division. The 2013 - 2014 league included schools such as National Champions Dematha Catholic (MD), State Champions St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (VA), State Champions T.C. Williams (VA), Gonzaga (DC), Episcopal High School (VA), Bishop Ireton (VA), T.C. Williams (VA), West Springfield (VA), West Potomac (VA), and more.
Advanced (Travel) Registration:
Players will be assigned by the ASA Technical Staff to ensure an appropriate level of competition that focuses on skill development.
*Note: Non-ASA travel teams are welcome to register their team into the league by completing the Non-ASA Travel Team Registration Form. Please contact Chris Arnold (ASA Director of Youth Development) at firstname.lastname@example.org for details on how to register your team.
