Coach

Alex Driessen

Alex grew up in Columbia, Maryland where he spent most weekends playing soccer and attending his older siblings' games. He helped his Baltimore Bays team win the 2009 Maryland State Cup and was named to The Baltimore Sun's Howard County first team all-decade for the 2010s. He went on to play collegiately for one season at Loyola University Maryland before transferring to St. Mary's College of Maryland, where he played for three seasons and spent one season as an assistant coach.

Alex began coaching with ASA in 2020 after moving to Alexandria. He has enjoyed seeing the impact of the ASA philosophy on the players' passion and understanding of the game. He spends his free time visiting family and trying new restaurants to ease the pain of being a long-time Sunderland fan. He is currently working on his USSF "D" license.
