As Director of Operations and Strategy at ASA Mark leads comprehensive operations initiatives and facilitates short and long term club-wide strategic planning. He collaborates with key City of Alexandria stakeholders [ACPS, Department of Parks & Rec, Alexandria Health Department, Virginia Health Department, the Youth Sports Advisory Board, club vendors & more] and works closely with our ASA board of directors and program directors to oversee innovative partnerships, manage efficient business systems, direct the allocation of resources and facilities, and maximize the functionality of our staff.
Since joining the ASA team in 2018 Mark has guided various internal and external strategic objectives with an emphasis on building a culture of excellence and expanding capacity to support the growing community need for soccer, futsal and creative programming across Alexandria.
Prior to working at ASA Mark held leadership roles at a DC-based soccer organization, a national sports marketing agency and as an adjunct college professor. Mark earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from American University in Business Administration and Public Communications, respectively, where he also was a member of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer team. Off the fields and courts, you can find Mark spending time with family, chasing his siberian husky—Maverick—around town, or grabbing lunch at District Taco!
