Are you a referee looking for opportunities?
ASA hires referees for a variety of programs, ranging from competitive to introductory. We hire referees for our competitive youth programs and tournaments on a rolling basis and are always looking for qualified candidates. We also hire high school students ages 13+ to referee in our Rec League and Junior Academy programs.
We welcome out of town referees for our tournaments! If you are interested in refereeing one of our events, please contact our referee assignor: [email protected]

Soccer Referee Classes
In order to help remove barriers for aspiring youth referees we are offering this class without payment up front.
ASA will make the initial investment for ASA players to take the online and field session clinics, a cost of $90 per player. In addition, ASA will provide a referee starter kit, at a cost of $49, so that upon completion of the courses, new referees can immediately start working. The total investment for each new referee is $139.
New referees will ‘payback’ ASA by working the equivalent to the total investment ASA made into the player. Please email Nick Papadis ([email protected]) to receive the registration code that will waive the fee when registering!
1) Register with Officials Management System (OMS). OMS can be accessed at https://mdcvasrp.omgtsys.com/. Once there click on “New Member Registration” and register for the clinic – “Referee – Grassroots Entry – First Step – Online Lessons (North 57-0321EGRHOL).” Pay the $80 registration fee.
2) Once you have registered, please log back on to OMS. Click on “Member Sign In” and sign in. Once at your home page scroll down to the grey “online lessons” button and click on it. You will complete 6-7 lessons depending on your age (those under 18 will not have to do SafeSport). Lessons are hosted on two platforms – OMS and USSF’s Digital Learning Center (DLC). It takes up to 48 hours for information to sync between the two platforms. As you complete lessons on the DLC please wait for it to update – if you leave the last few pages early your progress will not be saved.
3) AFTER you have completed the online modules – your online lessons button will turn green – you may request a transfer into the field clinic of your choice by contacting Diane Florkowski ([email protected]). Field sessions are currently scheduled in 4 hour blocks.
