ASA offers soccer and futsal programs for kids and adults of all abilities and ages

Programs develop character, mental and physical fitness, and interpersonal skills. ASA is dedicated to ensuring that ALL kids who want to play, have the opportunity to find success both on and off the field.

Alexandria Soccer Association (ASA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 1970 in Alexandria, Virginia. ASA offers soccer programs for citizens of all abilities and ages in the city limits of Alexandria, though our programming is open to ALL city residents and non-residents. ASA programs are intended to develop good character, mental and physical fitness, and interpersonal skills through soccer activities. Sportsmanship, social skills, and self-esteem are developed by player participation and regular interaction with volunteer and professional coaches.

From 2021-2022, ASA engaged in a strategic planning process which engaged community stakeholders, staff, coaches and parents in planning for the future. With help from a third party facilitator our board of directors engaged our community via focus groups, surveys, one-on-one meetings and retreats. The vision, mission and values you see above are the result of this process and we are energized to push forwards towards our bold mission and visions in support of our #ASACommunity!

General FAQs

Where is the office located and how do I reach you?

The office is located at 1108 Jefferson St, Alexandria, VA 22314. During office hours we can be reached by phone, or feel free to visit us in person. General questions can be directed to [email protected].

Tuesdays: 9am – 3pm
Thursday: 9am – 3pm

How do I register for an ASA Program?

Registrations can be done online, at the office (in person) or, if you already have an account with us, you can complete a registration over the phone. We strongly recommend that you create an account online before requesting to complete a registration over the phone. This ensures your information is accurate.

What official registration systems does ASA use?

ASA currently uses the following websites for program registrations and related payments: Otto Sport, TeamSnap, GotSport, and Square. Please review and follow the guidelines below to ensure you are using official ASA platforms and programs.

Register only through official ASA registration platforms.
Payments should only be made through official ASA payment systems unless explicitly authorized in writing.
Verify any camps, travel opportunities, private training, or specialty programs claiming an affiliation with ASA.
If something appears unusual, contact ASA before sending payment.
Coaches may provide private training independently, but those arrangements are private business relationships and are not sponsored, insured, or supervised by ASA unless specifically identified as an official ASA program.

Please be aware of red flags such as:

Requests via personal payment apps
Requests to pay an individual
Programs not listed on the website
Pressure to pay immediately

What is the minimum age at which my child can begin playing?

Two years old! We offer programs for all ages beginning with our Tots program (for 2 year olds) up through the Adult Leagues for participants 19+. We have programs for all skill levels.

How do I report a concern to ASA?

ASA is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants.

Please use our Support & Accountability Form to share any feedback, concerns, observations, or suggestions related to your experience with ASA. Your input helps ASA improve communication, education, safety, accountability, and the overall experience for everyone involved.

Submissions are reviewed by ASA club leadership and may be shared with relevant third parties when appropriate.

Do you offer financial aid?

ASA believes that every child, regardless of family financial situation, should have the opportunity to play soccer. Players who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch at school are eligible for a 25% discount on ASA programs. For further assistance, please email [email protected]

Does ASA have a conflict of interest policy?

Yes. ASA staff are asked to consider actual and potential connections with the Alexandria Soccer Association that could lead to conflicts of interest and then complete and submit the form.

Examples of conflicts of interest could include but are not limited to, conducting private training sessions, having a partner who works for ASA, having a child who participates in an ASA program, etc.

ASA coaches in the Academy program are prohibited from conducting private training for players in the same age group as any Academy team they are a head or assistant coach with. For example, a U10 Girls Academy coach cannot conduct private training for any U10 Girls Academy players. What is the refund policy?

Due to the differing nature of ASA programs each individual program has a specific refund policy based on timing of their first practice, game or event. Please visit a program page to learn more about the refund policy.

Can I use ASA's logo or branding?

The ASA logo and all associated brand assets are the exclusive property of ASA and may not be used, reproduced, modified, or distributed without prior written permission. The ASA logo may not be used on merchandise or other items intended for sale, fundraising, or commercial purposes unless expressly authorized by ASA. Unauthorized use of the ASA name, logo, or branding in a manner that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship is strictly prohibited. ASA reserves the right to deny or revoke permission for any use that does not align with the organization’s brand standards, mission, or policies.

Are ASA coaches background checked?

ASA coaches and volunteer coaches must pass background checks and complete SafeSport training. Across our programs they participate in ongoing coaching education and seasonally sign a Coach Code of Conduct.
