Elkin

Coach

Elkin Hernandez-Ortega

Coach Elkin started his soccer career later than his peers. He was cut from two teams and left another. By the time he joined his fourth team he felt defeated. But with perseverance, he really pushed himself to improve and grow with this new team. He remembers juggling in the rain and trying really hard to get better. Elkin learned how to play in three different positions, had the second best cardio on the team, and went from being a bench player to a starter.

Playing three different position resulted in constant learning, analyzation of the game, and a broader understanding of soccer. Because of his experiences, he enjoys developing young players not only on the field but teaching them mentality that can positively impact their lives on and off the field.
