Women in Coaching Fellowship Program

ASA is dedicated to developing female coaches as leaders and mentors in soccer. The 2025-26 season marks the launch of our Women in Coaching Fellowship, designed to prepare female coaches to lead their own teams. Fellows will gain experience in training session planning, game management, communication, and more.

Fellows will be paired with specific teams and coaches each season. They will attend two to three training sessions per week in addition to all home games. Over the course of the year they will work up to leading several training sessions and assisting with game day tactics and player management, in addition to other responsibilities. This is a paid role that also include licensing and coaching gear.

In our inaugural season of this program we are thrilled to announce Christy Monroy Bravo and Hannah Rossman as our first two fellows!

We chatted briefly with Christy and Hannah about what they’re looking forward to in the upcoming season!

Hannah said, “ASA’s Women in Coaching Fellowship allows me to gain practical experience to develop as an aspiring head coach. I look forward to being integrated with the team during training sessions, games and off the field instruction. I appreciate that this program offers professional growth and mentorship as a soccer coach.” Christy noted, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to organize and lead sessions throughout the season and receive feedback from the ASA technical staff — I think the hands on experience and feedback will really help me improve as a coach!”

Christy added, “I originally joined Alexandria as a women’s futsal player in 2023 and appreciated the club atmosphere as an adult player. I think ASA aligns well with my personal value of building community through the game, as they are really involved in the entire soccer ecosystem within Alexandria—youth, recreational, competitive, adult, futsal, camps, in-school engagement, and more! I’ve come to love futsal almost as much as soccer, so having the opportunity to coach at a club with an establish futsal program was also very important to me.”

Throughout the season both fellows will work with ASA Technical Staff and get one-on-one feedback from ASA’s Academy Girls Director, Tim Lenzo. Christy will work with the U19 GA team and Hannah will work with the U16 GA team for the coming 25-26 season.
