Earlier this Spring our Executive Director, Tommy Park, was honored as the Administrator of the Year at the Mid-Atlantic Recreation and Parks Sports Alliance, GoodSports in our Communities annual award ceremony. Recognition of MARPSA GoodSports was created to highlight and promote positive sportsmanship within our communities. We’re proud of Tommy and our ASA community for being honored by such a great organization.
The purpose of MARPSA is “to develop and communicate a consistent message that organizations and their players, coaches and spectators will be held accountable to a code of conduct that promotes sportsmanship and keeps recreational, competitive and non-competitive sporting activities in proper perspective.”
Ryan Wallace who is a member of our ASA TOPSoccer program and Hammond Middle School student, was awarded Athlete of the Year. Congrats Ryan!
Angela Hale, awarded Coach of the Year is a longtime head coach of the track & field, plus cheerleading programs in Alexandria.
